Ajalooteadus on ühiskondlik ressurss. See on ammendamatu inspiratsiooniallikas loomemajanduse ja kultuuriturismi rikastamiseks, koolitunni ja noorsootöö muutmisel põnevaks seikluseks. Tänases Eestis on värske ajalooteaduse ühiskonda jõudmine väga vaevaline. Ajalugu on pigem tüütu lisaaine koolis kui et uusi võimalusi loov aines.
Ometi on inimesed Eesti eri paigus avastanud enda jaoks uue lähenemise ajaloole. Elav Ajalugu ja Elav Ajalooõpe loovad vaimustunud sära õpilaste ja muude asjaosaliste silmadesse. Selle uue lähenemise puhul mängib kandvat rolli LARP – Päris Elus Rollimäng. Elava Ajaloo Konverents 2014 tutvustab LARPi olemust ja selle võimalusi ajalooteaduse aktiivsel kasutuselevõtul .
